Alaves beat Valencia and Betis strengthens his third place

Alaves secured a precious victory over guest Valencia with two goals to one in the 24th round of La Liga.

Senegalese Mamadou Loum opened the scoring for the hosts (14) before the referee counted a penalty for Valencia successfully executed by Portuguese Gonzalo Guedes (62). The referee counted another penalty for Alaves, which Joselu placed it into the net scoring the winning goal in the 76th minute to help Alaves achieve the first victory since the beginning of this year.

Real Betis back on the winning track

Real Betis are back on the winning streak in the league after losing in the last round to Villarreal 2-0. Real Betis triumphed 4-2 against Levante after an impressive brilliance in the first half. Real Betis scored from France’s Nabil Fekir (14 and 49), Edgar Gonzalez (29), and Portugal’s Carvalho (42), while Dani Gomez scored the losing team’s both goals (43 and 47).

Betis raised their tally to 43 points in third place, four points behind Atletico Madrid and five points behind Barcelona, who face Espanyol tonight.

In another game, Real Sociedad beat Granada 2-0.
