AC Milan has confirmed that right-back Alessandro Florenzi will be back with them for good.
Last season, the 31-year-old was on loan at San Siro from Roma. He made 30 appearances in all competitions as Milan won the Serie A title easily.
As Davide Calabria’s backup, Florenzi started 12 games in Serie A and scored two goals.
He has signed a three-year deal with the current league champions, who are thought to have gotten a discount on the €4.5 million option to buy that was part of their loan deal with Roma.
Just hours before Florenzi’s contract was extended, club directors Paolo Maldini and Frederic Massara also extended their stays.
Both have signed new contracts for two years, putting an end to rumors about their futures.
Milan changed hands this summer, and there were rumors that the new owners might get rid of Maldini. However, the club legend has put an end to all the rumors by signing a new contract.
