Negotiations to finalize the verbal agreement are still underway, but both parties look satisfied.
Christensen is anticipated to sign a five-year contract extension until 2027, with a weekly salary of roughly £95,000.
On Monday, it was announced in Spain that the 54-cap Dane will have the second portion of his physical yesterday.
Barcelona are aiming to spend a lot of money this summer on Erling Haaland, who will play up front for them next season, while also seeking for bargains and free signings to enhance the rest of their squad.
Christensen might join Barcelona alongside teammate Cesar Azpilicueta, who is also linked with a free move.
