Arsenal clinch first EFL Cup semi-final ticket

Arsenal sealed the first semi-final spot of the EFL Cup by beating Sunderland 5-1 at the Emirates Stadium on Tuesday.

The London club was playing the easiest quarter-finals, at least on paper, against the only team left in the quarter-finals from outside the Premier League clubs. The team has taken advantage of his fourth consecutive victory since two consecutive Premier League defeats by rivals Manchester United and Everton.

The Gunners emerged victorious from their first clash with Sunderland since the last bid farewell to the Premier League at the end of the 2016-17 season to Edward Nketiah, who scored a hattrick (17, 49, and 58), and Ivorian Nicolas Pepe (27) and 18-year-old substitute Charlie Patino (90+1) added the other two goals, while Nathan Broadhead (31) added the only goal.
