
Arsenal complete the signing of Brazilian forward Marquinhos from Sao Paolo
Marquinhos, a Brazilian forward who is only 19 years old, has joined Arsenal from Sao Paolo, the Premier League club said Monday.
British news outlets said that Arsenal paid around $3.65 million for the 19-year-old player, who signed a five-year contract with the London team.

“We’re happy to have finished the deal with Sao Paulo because Marquinhos was a player we’d been watching for a while,” said. Arsenal technical director Edu.
“He’s only 19, so he’s a good player for the future.”
Marquinhos has played for Brazil at the Under-16 and Under-17 levels. He made 17 appearances for Sao Paolo last season and scored three goals in all competitions.
He is the first player to join Mikel Arteta’s team this summer. Last season, they finished fifth in the league and lost out to Tottenham Hotspur for the last spot in the Champions League.
