Arsenal completed the task successfully by overcoming Newcastle United 2-0 on Saturday in the 13th stage of the English Premier League football league
Newcastle fans have been able to see new coach Eddie Howe on the field for the first time after returning from coronavirus, with Slovenian goalkeeper Martin Dubravka also making his debut this season after returning from injury.
Dubravka was ready for the challenges in the first half and countered more than one ball that came as a result of the Gunners’ pressure, also Arsenal goalkeeper Aaron Ramsdale was brilliant for a rocket shot sent by Jonjo Shelvey.
In the second half, the cuff tilted in favor of the home side in terms of scoring, when Bukayo Saka opened the scoring in the 56th minute with a superb left-footed shot inside the box, 10 minutes later Brazilian Gabriel Martinelli added the second by following the ball of Takehiro Tomiyasu.
Coach Mikel Arteta led Arsenal to 23 points (fifth) ahead of West Ham United (fourth), who take on champions Manchester City on Sunday.
Newcastle are still in the 20th and last place with 6 points from 6 draws to stay as the only team with zero wins in the Premier League.
