Atletico qualified after the home-and-away games were decided in their favor by two goals to one.

Manchester United started the game strong, attacking by the young midfielder Anthony Elanga but without real effectiveness against Oblak.
The Spanish team took full advantage of the host’s rush and managed to score from a lightning strike that was ended by the Brazilian Renan Lodi, who rose to the ball and shot it with his head, announcing a goal for Atletico Madrid in the 41st minute.
United tried to equalize in the second half but Atletico’s organized defence prevented the hosts from creating any real danger against the goalkeeper Jan Oblak.
