Atletico Madrid snatch the qualifying card by overcoming Porto

Atletico Madrid snatched the second qualifying spot to the round of 16 of the Champions League after beating hosts Porto 3-1 on Tuesday, in the sixth and final round of the first round for Group B.

Atletico’s first goal was scored by Antoine Griezmann (56), while Argentina’s Angel Correa scored (90), the third was added by De Paul (90+2) and Sergio Oliveira scored (90+6) from the penalty spot. Both teams were exposed for a red card, Belgian Yannick Carrasco from the Spaniards in the 67th minute, and Brazilian Wendell for Porto in minute 70.

Atletico secured second place with 7 points behind leaders Liverpool, who reached 18 points after overcoming Milan 2-1, while Porto (5 points) went to the Europa League, and the Russian team came out empty-handed with only 4 points.
