Atletico Madrid temporarily removed Barcelona from fourth place after a very exciting win over Getafe.
Atletico Madrid beat Getafe 4-3 on Saturday in the 24th round of the Spanish La Liga competition.
The first half saw six of the game’s seven goals and three penalties, one of which was missed by Uruguayan Luis Suarez.
Suarez’s penalty (9) did not prevent Atletico Madrid from taking the lead with goals from Argentina’s Correa and Brazilian Matheus Conha (19 and 27) to make the defending champions think it over, but Getafe bounced with three goals.
Borja Mayoral scored the goal to close the gap (30) before the Turkish Enes Unal gave his team the advantage after scoring two penalties (37 and 42).
Correa ended the first half with a draw after scoring his second and third goals for Atletico (45+4).
The dismissal of Brazilian Felipe (58) did not prevent Atletico Madrid from snatching the match points thanks to the goal of substitute Hermoso, which came at 89th minute.
Atletico Madrid raised their tally to 39 points in fourth place temporarily, a point behind Barcelona, who became fifth, while Getafe’s balance was frozen at 25 points in 15th place temporarily.
