Barca forward reportedly given the green light to leave as Chelsea speculation grows
According to reports, Barcelona will allow Aubameyang to leave due to Chelsea’s interest.
Chelsea’s ongoing talks with Barcelona could result in more than just midfielder Frenkie de Jong, according to new reports, with Pierre-Emerick Aubameyang also on the table for a move.
Over the past month, the two powerhouse clubs have been in seemingly constant contact, with Barcelona openly looking to add Marcos Alonso and Cesar Azpilicueta after swooping in to sign Blues target Jules Kounde.
Chelsea recently signed Azpilicueta to a two-year extension, but the two clubs re-opened talks when the Stamford Bridge outfit decided to bid for De Jong, and in the process, they may have found the answer to their striker situation.

Following expensive moves for Leeds United winger Raphinha, Bayern Munich striker Robert Lewandowski, and Sevilla centre-back Kounde, the Mirror reports that Barcelona are “desperate to balance their books,” with Aubameyang, 33, appearing to be the most likely option to be moved on.
According to the report, both De Jong and Aubameyang are considered surplus to requirements, and with Chelsea still looking for a replacement for Romelu Lukaku, who was loaned out to Inter, it could be a perfect match.
There is no mention of a possible asking price for the striker, who scored 20 goals in 38 club appearances this season, including 11 in 17 LaLiga games.
Meanwhile, ESPN reports that Chelsea were interested in the Gabonese forward before he signed a contract extension with Arsenal in 2020, and that they are still interested.
