Barcelona exit news dominates Spanish headlines

The news of Barcelona’s Champions League exit with a loss to Bayern Munich dominated the Spanish headlines.

Catalan newspaper Sport called it a “sad farewell to the Champions League”, and added part of the remarks of coach Xavi, who in turn said that Barcelona does not deserve what happened, pointing to the beginning of a new era.

While The Mundo Deportivo put up a picture of Ter Stegen when he failed in stopping one of Bayern’s goals, she wrote in bold “below zero”. In Madrid, the title of The Marca newspaper was abbreviated by the word “drowning” with an expressive picture of Pique.” Barça is living a historic disaster by falling for the first time in 21 years in the group stage and moving to play in the Europa League,” as wrote in its subtitle.
