Barcelona ‘holding Mohamed Salah discussions,’ according to reports, as Liverpool transfer rumors persist

Barcelona are apparently ‘not giving up hope’ on signing Mohamed Salah after the attacker revealed he has no idea what his future holds with his contract ending in the summer of 2023. Liverpool and Salah are currently negotiating a deal.

According to reports, Barcelona has communicated with Salah’s entourage and has made it known that they want to bring the Egyptian star to the Nou Camp as they attempt to rebuild the team.

Salah, who has 22 Premier League goals and 12 assists this season, has indicated his desire to continue at Anfield once his current deal expires, but his demands must first be granted by the Liverpool owners.

Salah scored twice in Liverpool’s 4-0 triumph against Manchester United on Tuesday night. With Liverpool chasing a historic quadruple, the Egyptian is a vital piece in their quest for success.

Salah told FourFourTwo: “I believe the supporters understand what I want.” A contract is more than just money, therefore I’m not sure what I can say about my future. I have one year remaining on my contract, and the fans know exactly what I’m looking for.

“We’ll see what happens in the next year.” The most important thing now is to finish the season as strongly as possible since there are many things at risk. The idea of entering his last year of the contract without renewing is not even contemplated by Liverpool, and I can see how the Egyptian would walk out with the freedom card in hand, unable to compete with offers from other clubs.”
