Barcelona in discussions to capture Leeds United’s outstanding player

According to sources, Barcelona has started discussions with Leeds United winger Raphinha.

Barca are on the lookout for a new winger since Ousmane Dembele’s contract is set to expire at the end of the season.

Reports on sports Raphinha has been praised as Barcelona’s main target to replace Dembele, and the club has already conducted talks with the Brazilian’s agent, Deco.

According to the source, Xavi has given his approval to Barca’s efforts to recruit Raphinha, while Chelsea and Liverpool have also shown interest in the 25-year-old.

Raphinha has been the best performer for Leeds this season, scoring nine goals and assisting three times.

Raphinha has been in negotiations with Leeds about extending his contract, but according to sources in Brazil, the winger would not commit to a new agreement until his £70 million release clause is reduced.
When asked about his future last month, Raphinha stated that he was delegating his position with Leeds to his agency and family.

‘I have a contract until 2024, and my mind is completely concentrated on Leeds.’ ‘I leave contractual issues to my agency and my father,’ Raphinha told BBC Radio Leeds.

‘All I care about is playing my football and making the Leeds supporters happy by scoring goals, assisting teammates, and helping the club win.’
