Benfica and Liverpool reach a 75 million euros agreement for Nunez
Benfica and Liverpool have agreed to sell forward Darwin Nunez to Liverpool for an initial price of 75 million euros ($78.59 million), the Portuguese club said on Monday.
The deal, which includes add-ons worth 20 million euros, depends on Nunez signing a contract with Liverpool, the statement said.

Nunez scored the most goals in Portugal’s top league in 2021-22. He scored 34 goals for Benfica in all competitions, including goals in both legs of the club’s Champions League quarterfinal loss to Liverpool.
He could replace Sadio Mane, who has been linked with a move to Bayern Munich because he can play on the wing and in the middle.
Liverpool won the FA Cup and the League Cup at the end of the 2021-22 season, but they finished second in the league and lost to Real Madrid in the Champions League final.
Benfica bought Nunez from Almeria in the summer of 2020 for 24 million euros, and British media say that the Spanish club will get 20 percent of any profit from the deal.
