Borussia Dortmund signed Sebastien Haller from Ajax Amsterdam

Both teams have acknowledged that German club Borussia Dortmund has signed striker Sebastien Haller from Dutch champions Ajax Amsterdam.

The 28-year-old former Eintracht Frankfurt striker has signed a four-year contract with the Black and Yellows, according to an official statement released by the clubs on Wednesday.

“We are delighted to have signed a seasoned striker who generated a sensation in the Champions League in Sebastien Haller.” “He also understands the Bundesliga and has previously shown his skill and talent in front of goal,” Dortmund’s sports director Sebastian Kehl said on Wednesday.

Haller is well-versed in the Bundesliga, having played with the “Eagles” from 2017 to 2019, scoring 24 goals in 60 competitive outings. He just concluded the season as the top scorer (21 goals) in the Dutch Eredivisie and placed third in the Champions League goal-getters rankings with 11 goals, behind only Robert Lewandowski (13) and Karim Benzema (15), according to Xinhua.

“It’s a fantastic stadium, but even the best stadium is worthless without its fans.” I can scarcely wait to feel the support of more than 80,000 people. “Hopefully, in the next years, we will accomplish great things together,” Haller told the club’s official website.

Following the departure of Erling Haaland, Dortmund’s new addition was given the number 9 shirt.

The eight-time German champions face TSV 1860 Munich in the first round of the German Cup on July 27 before hosting Bayer Leverkusen in the Bundesliga opener on August 6.
