By mutual consent, Inter terminates Sanchez’s contract
Inter Milan announced on Monday that Chile forward Alexis Sanchez’s contract has been mutually terminated.
According to Italian media, Sanchez is expected to join the French club Olympique de Marseille on a free transfer.
After joining Inter from Manchester United in 2019, the 33-year-old made 109 appearances and scored 20 goals in all competitions, although he was seldom in the starting lineup last season.
“The club would like to thank Alexis fully for these past three seasons, during which the Nerazzurri won three major titles, and we wish him the best of luck in his future career,” Inter stated in a statement.
Former Barcelona and Arsenal attacker Sanchez won the 2020-2021 Scudetto, Inter’s first league victory in 11 years, and helped the team win the Italian Cup and Super Cup last season.
