Chelsea clinched the Champions League quarter-finals spot

Defending champions Chelsea clinched their promotion to the quarter-finals of the Champions League after beating hosts Lille by two goals to one on Wednesday in the round of 16 the tournament.

“The Blues” repeated their victory over Lille, as they beat him at home with two clean goals, to win the total of the two games back and forth (4-1).

Lille opened the scoring with Burak Yilmaz in the 38th minute from the penalty spot before Christian Pulisic equalized for Chelsea in the 45+3 minute.

In the 71st minute, Cesar Azpilicueta scored the second goal for the Londoners.

At the stadium “Pierre Mauroy” in Lille, Chelsea achieved their ninth consecutive victory in various competitions.

German coach Thomas Tuchel made one change to the squad that settled the first leg with the inclusion of Italian Jorginho in place of Moroccan Hakim Ziyech, who sat on the bench.
