Chelsea “getting closer” to De Ligt, and “talks are still going on” about Ake.

Reports say that Chelsea wants to sign Nathan Ake from Manchester City and Matthijs de Ligt from Juventus as soon as possible.

This summer, the Blues are looking for at least two new central defenders.

Antonio Rudiger and Andreas Christensen both left the team when their contracts ran out. Cesar Azpilicueta and Marcos Alonso, on the other hand, have been linked with a move.

Rudiger has officially joined Real Madrid on a free transfer, but Christensen’s move to Barcelona has not been confirmed by the Catalan club.

Chelsea have been heavily linked with Sevilla’s Jules Kounde and reportedly agreed personal terms with the Frenchman last summer.

This week, 90min said that the La Liga club has put a deadline on Kounde’s transfer because they want to sell him quickly.

Josko Gvardiol of RB Leipzig and Benoit Badiashile of Monaco have both been linked with a move to Stamford Bridge, but De Ligt and Ake seem to be the top two players the London club wants.

The Telegraph says that Chelsea’s talks with Juventus about a deal for De Ligt are “moving forward” while they wait for the end of their pursuit of Leeds United winger Raphinha.

The Dutch defender is said to be “interested” in the move, and “in recent days, the Old Lady have lowered their demands.”

At first, Juve wanted the player’s £102 million release clause to be activated, but if Timo Werner or Christian Pulisic move in the opposite direction, they will drive the price down.

They are still talking to the Italian team about a deal, and they are also still talking to Manchester City about a deal to re-sign Ake.

Both central defenders are “high on Chelsea’s immediate agenda” as Todd Boehly tries to get the club’s transfer business going.

The Blues are also interested in Raheem Sterling, a forward for City. It has been said that Sterling and Ake could be traded together.

According to reports, Ake is worth at least £40 million, and Sterling could go for at least £50 million.
