Chelsea’s co-owner has arrived in Barcelona to negotiate with Barcelona
Todd Boehly, co-owner of Chelsea, has come in Spain for negotiations with Barcelona about a few players, 90min can confirm.
Since before the transfer market started, the two teams have been connected. Andreas Christensen has already moved from Stamford Bridge to Camp Nou, and Barcelona hopes to follow that up with a deal for defenders Cesar Azpilicueta and Marcos Alonso, both of whom have just a year left on their contracts.
90min believes that both players are eager to transfer and were given permission to do so by the Blues’ former owners, however Boehly’s attitude on the duo is unclear.
Barcelona is still keen to complete a deal, with club director Jordi Cruyff recently conceding that the takeover has hindered their progress, but Boehly is already in Barcelona for official negotiations about potential transfers.
The futures of Azpilicueta and Alonso are anticipated to be the major topic of conversation, although Barcelona right-back Sergino Dest is also expected to be raised, as Chelsea have a long-standing interest in the American.

Boehly is also scheduled to inquire about the condition of midfielder Frenkie de Jong, whom 90min thinks Chelsea has shown interest in signing this summer.
Chelsea are looking for a new midfielder this summer after losing Aurelien Tchouameni to Real Madrid, and after a tentative approach for West Ham’s Declan Rice was rejected down, the Blues have added De Jong to their list of prospective replacements.
