
Cristiano Ronaldo confirms his return to the Man Utd team
Cristiano Ronaldo has stated that he will make his Manchester United debut against Rayo Vallecano on Sunday.
The attacker has missed all of the Red Devils’ pre-season due to personal issues, but he is also seeking to arrange a transfer away from Old Trafford in quest of Champions League play.
Man United announced on Friday that Ronaldo will not go to Norway to play Atletico Madrid on Saturday.
On Instagram, a fan account shared Manchester United’s 21-man squad for their match against Atletico Madrid, to which Ronaldo replied, ‘Sunday the king plays.’
After beating Atletico Madrid on Saturday, Manchester United traveled to Old Trafford the following day to face Rayo Vallecano.
Erik ten Hag, who has taken over as manager from Ralf Rangnick, is hoping to give every one of his team enough playing time over the weekend in preparation for their return to Premier League action next week.
The Red Devils kick off the new season at home against Brighton on Sunday, before traveling to Brentford the following Saturday.
Ten Hag’s first major test will be against Liverpool at Old Trafford on Monday, August 22. Last season’s encounter was won 5-0 by Jurgen Klopp’s team.
