Dramatic showdown ends in a draw between Chelsea and Liverpool

The summit clash between Chelsea and Liverpool ended in a 2-2 draw on Sunday in the 21st round of the English Premier League.

Liverpool led by Senegalese Sadio Mane (9) and Egyptian Mohamed Salah (26) and then Croatian Mateo Kovacic (42) reduced the gap on the first occasion, American Christian Pulisic (45+1) adjusted the cuff. In 21 games, Chelsea have collected 43 points from 12 wins, 7 draws, and 2defeats, while Liverpool have 42 points from 20 games with 12 wins, 6 draws, and 2 losses.

Jürgen Klopp missed his team’s match against Chelsea on suspicion of being infected by Covid-19. Brazilian goalkeeper Allison Becker, compatriot Roberto Firmino and Cameroon defender Joel Matip were ruled out of Liverpool’s match against Chelsea as well.

Belgian striker Romelu Lukaku was excluded from the Chelsea team after controversial statements made a few days ago in which he expressed dissatisfaction with his presence at Chelsea and the plan followed by the coach Thomas Tuchel.
