Mirko Ivanic scored the first goal for the hosts in the tenth minute but Ryan Kent made the adjustment in the 56th minute before El Fardou Ben signed the Red Star’s goal from a penalty kick in the last breath of the match (90+3).
Portugal’s Braga also qualified for the quarter-finals with following a 1-1 draw at home to France’s Monaco after winning 2-0 in the first leg.
Italian club Atalanta reached the quarter-finals of the Europa League by beating German hosts Bayer Leverkusen with a clean goal on Thursday in the second leg of the current round. Ivorian Jeremy Boga scored the winning goal to help Atalanta qualify with a 4-2 home-and-away win.
English club West Ham United expelled Spanish side Sevilla after the extension by beating them with two clean goals on Thursday in the second leg of the Europa League final to reach the quarter-finals of the competition. Czech Tomas Soucek scored the first goal in the 39th minute before Ukrainian Andrey Yarmolenko scored the winning goal in the 112th minute of the match to qualify West Ham with a 2-1 home-and-away win to oust the Spanish club, who hold the competition’s record 6 titles.
Germany’s Eintracht Frankfurt reached the same turn in dramatic fashion with a 1-1 draw with Spain’s Real Betis in overtime of the second half when the game was headed for a penalty shootout, scored by Argentine opponent Guido Rodriguez accidentally in goal. The first leg helped the German side after winning 2-1.
French club Lyon reached the quarter-finals of the Europa League with a 1-1 home draw with Porto on Thursday in the second leg of the final, taking advantage of their home win over Porto with a goal. Striker Moussa Dembele opened the scoring for the French team in the 13th minute before Brazilian Pepe equalized for Porto in the 27th minute of the first half.
