Both Manchester City and Chelsea qualified for the fourth round of the FA Cup with two brilliant wins 4-1 over Swindon Town and 5-1 over Chesterfield respectively.
Bernardo Silva (14), Gabriel Jesus (28), Ilkay Gundogan (59), and Cole Palmer (82) took turns scoring goals for the Citizens. Harry McKirdy, on the other hand, scored Swindon Town’s only goal (78).
In Chelsea’s game, Germany’s Timo Werner opened the scoring for the Blues in the sixth minute after a pass from Moroccan star Hakim Ziyech, Callum Hudson-Odoi added the second goal in the 18th minute. Two minutes later Belgium’s Romelu Lukaku scored the third goal after a pass from Werner. Danish defender Andreas Christensen scored the fourth goal from a header in the 39th minute. Hakim Ziyech wrapped up Chelsea’s five-goal lead in the 55th minute with a penalty kick, and the visitors’ only goal of the match was signed by Dutchman Akwasi Asante in the 80th minute.
