Liverpool qualified for the FA Cup quarter-finals on Wednesday after beating Norwich City 2-1 in the fifth round.
Japan’s Takumi Minamino scored in the 27th and 39th minutes, while Norwich’s Lukas Rupp scored in the 76th minute.
Liverpool were recently crowned champions of the English League Cup after beating Chelsea on penalties 11-10 after the match ended in a goalless draw.
Chelsea reached the quarter-finals of the FA Cup with a tough 3-2 victory over Luton Town on Wednesday night.
Reece Burke opened the scoring for the hosts in the second minute, before Spaniard Saul Niguez equalized in the 27th minute, but Harry Cornick restored the lead for Luton Town in the 40th minute, and German Timo Werner equalized in the 68th minute before Belgian Romelu Lukaku snatched the winning goal for Chelsea in the 78th minute of the match.
Chelsea’s win comes after Russian owner Roman Abramovich announced his decision to sell the English club after he had announced his departure in recent days under pressure following the Russian invasion of Ukraine.
Southampton also passed into the quarter-finals by beating West Ham United 3-1.
