Manchester City reached the FA Cup semi-final with a big win over Southampton 4-1 on Sunday.
The visitors opened the scoring with a goal by Raheem Sterling in the 12th minute, the hosts equalized with the help of Aymeric Laporte just before half-time and Man City regained their lead through Kevin De Bruyne from the penalty spot in the 62nd minute.
Phil Foden lifted City’s tally to three goals in the 75th minute, while Algerian star Riyad Mahrez wrapped up Manchester City’s quad in the 78th-minute.
City beat Southampton on their third try of the season after falling to them twice in the domestic league.
Man City will face Liverpool who beat Nottingham Forest 1-0 in the same round. The Red’s victory came by a goal from the Portuguese Diogo Jota in the 78th minute to book a highly anticipated semi-final.
Crystal Palace also eliminated Everton from the FA Cup quarter-finals after sweeping them with a clean four on Sunday.
The winning team’s goals were scored by Marc Guehi (25), Jean-Philippe Mateta (41), Wilfried Zaha (79), and Will Hughes (88). Crystal Palace will face Chelsea in the other semi-final on April 16.
