Brazilian Fabinho scored Liverpool’s only goal in a 1-0 win over Burnley on Sunday in the 25th round of the Premier League.
Fabinho gave the Reds three points by following a ball that came from a corner in the 40th minute.
Liverpool are second in the table with 54 points and 9 points behind leaders Manchester City, with the latter having a game more than Jurgen Klopp’s team.
Tottenham lost to Wolverhampton Wanderers 2-0, with Mexican Raul Jimenez (6) and Belgian Leander Dendoncker (18) scoring.
Wolverhampton finished with 37 points in 7th place and Tottenham 8th, one point behind Wolves.
Newcastle continued their rise with a third successive win, coming at the expense of Aston Villa with a direct free-kick scored by Atletico Madrid newcomer Kieran Trippier (35). This is Trippier’s second straight free-kick after his goal against Everton last week.
Eddie Howe’s team has 21 points, but is still in 17th place, while Steven Gerrard’s team is also still in 11th place with 27 points.
Leicester City and West Ham United ended in a 2-2 draw.
Leicester’s Yuri Tielemans scored (45) from the penalty spot, Portugal’s Ricardo Pereira (57), West Ham’s Jarrod Bowen (10), and Craig Dawson (90 +1).
Leicester City have 27 points from 22 games, compared with 41 points for 4th-placed West Ham.
