FIFA punishes Marseille over Pape Gaye transfer case

Marseille have been sanctioned by FIFA over the transfer of Senegalese Pape Gaye to the French club from Watford.

According to media reports, FIFA has banned Marseille from signing new players during the next two transfer windows due to the Senegalese player Pape Gaye case. It has been reported that the French club has been fined an estimated 2.5 million euros in compensation to Watford with four months ban for the player, but Marseille is likely to appeal the decision.

Senegalese coach Alio Cissé confirmed yesterday that FIFA suspended Gaye due to a conflictbetween his club Marseille and Watford over his move.
