Erling Haaland joined Borussia Dortmund in 2020 and will depart after 89 appearances and 86 goals. Manchester City paid 60,000,000 euros to get the striker. The Norwegian agreed to a 5-year deal for 20,000,000 euros per year.
Borussia Dortmund seems to have been more than simply another club in Haaland’s life. He was glad to have played for the German team, and the German club expressed their delight at having the player on their roster.
The Leeds-born striker said his last goodbyes in the Signal-Iduna-Park, when Dortmund beat Hertha Berlin 2-1, with Haaland scoring. The 21-year-old striker then said farewell to Dortmund with a night on the town.
Haaland may be seen partying in a video that has leaked on social media; the video has been uploaded and shared across various accounts all over the globe. Before departing for England, the Norwegian wished his teammates and support personnel an emotional goodbye and gave each of them a gift.
“A goodbye to the club for a Bundesliga star has possibly never been more costly – and willingly!” As he prepares to fly to England, the Norwegian has given timepieces to the whole team and support personnel, according to the German tabloid.
He allegedly bought 33 Rolex watches at around £12,730 apiece for all of the players (15.045 euros). This translates with Haaland spending 496,485 euros on the watches. However, he also purchased at least 20 OMEGA watches for the support personnel, each for roughly £4,128. (4.878 euros). The OMEGA watches cost the striker 97,560 euros. Haaland is said to have spent 594,000 euros on 53 timepieces in all.
It does not seem to have been an extravagant expenditure for the Norwegian, who will be the highest-paid player in the Premier League as of July 1. The striker will be paid 20 million euros net, making him the world’s fourth most paid player. Salary is projected to be £375,000 (443.100 euros) each week. Haaland will need two weeks to recoup his investment on the 53 watches.
