How much will Real Madrid earn after winning the Champions League?

After beating Liverpool in the Champions League final on Saturday in Paris, which was the last game of the 2021/22 season, Real Madrid won a record 14th European title. It ruined Jürgen Klopp’s team’s chances of getting a cup treble after winning the EFL Carabao Cup and FA Cup earlier this year. It would have been their seventh title.

Real Madrid wins both games and sets a lot of new club and individual records in the process. Carlo Ancelotti is the first coach to win the Champions League four times (2002-03, 2006-07, and 2013-14 with AC Milan, and 2013-14 and 2021-22 with Madrid). Club captain Marcelo is leaving the club as the player with the most titles in its history, with 24. Gareth Bale is the first British player to win five Champions League winners’ medals. He only played for Madrid in Europe for a total of seven minutes and didn’t play at all in the final.

Aside from the silverware and the place in history, getting to the final and winning it can also bring in a lot of money.

Champions League prize

In 2022, the two teams that reach the final of the Champions League will each get $17.5 million as a prize for making it that far. The winner in Paris on Saturday will get an extra $5.1 million because they will play in the UEFA Super Cup in August. This is a one-time final between Real Madrid and Eintracht Frankfurt, the winners of the Europa League and the Europa League, respectively.

This season, each of the 32 clubs that took part got at least $17.7 million just for making it to the group stage. With every win or tie in the six games that make up the group stage, they were able to add to that amount.

So, by the end of the tournament, Real Madrid will have won a total of $82.2 million for winning the Champions League in 2021/22.
