Juventus fifth with second consecutive victory

Juventus achieved their second consecutive victory and became fifth by beating Genoa 2-0 on Sunday in the 16th stage of Serie A.

After two defeats, at Chelsea 0-4 in the Champions League and then at home against Atalanta 0-1, Juventus benefited from the poor level of their opponents to successively achieve their second win. In the past round, coach Massimiliano Allegri’s team defeated hosts Salernitana 2-0, and on Sunday they won their eighth victory of the season at the expense of Genoa 18th.

Again, Juventus showed an attacking adulation despite the huge amount of chances they had in the match, which Spain’s Alvaro Morata, Argentina’s Paulo Dybala or Federico Bernardeschi, Sweden’s Dejan Kulusevski and substitute Moise Kean failed to translate after colliding with the brilliance of goalkeeper Salvatore Sirigu.

The first goal of the match was from a corner kick by Colombian Juan Cuadrado when the ball continued its way into the net of the former goalkeeper of Palermo, Paris Saint-Germai, Sevilla, and Torino (9). After many missed opportunities, relief came in the 82nd minute through Dybala, who received the ball from Bernardeschi , and advanced it in the penalty area before hitting it on the left of Sirigu, confirming the eighth defeat of the guests whose situation did not change even after the signing of former Milan star Andrei Shevchenko.

Juventus increased their tally to 27 points and advanced to fifth place.
