Keiran Trippier away for a long period due to a broken foot

Newcastle United suffered a major blow after star Kieran Trippier suffered a broken foot, the English club said on Monday.

The northeast club said Trippier had suffered a fracture in the fifth bone of his left foot, as shown by the X-rays he underwent after the end of his team’s win over Aston Villa with a goal he scored himself.

The31 years old’s absence will be a major knock for Newcastle, who are struggling to avoid relegation, with Trippier performing impressively since joining and scoring twice in their last two games.
