Liverpool continued to pursue Manchester City and achieved a big away win over Crystal Palace 3-1 on Sunday in the 23rd round of the English Premier League.
Virgil van Dijk opened the scoring for Liverpool in the eighth minute before Alex Oxlade-Chamberlain added the second goal in the 32nd minute. In the 55th minute, Odsonne Edouard reduced the lead by scoring Crystal Palace’s only goal, Liverpool came back to lead with two goals to go after Fabinho scored the third with a penalty in the 89th minute.
With this victory, Liverpool increased their tally to 48 points in second place while Crystal Palace froze their tally at 24 points in 13th place.
In the same round, Leicester City drew with Brighton (1-1). Zambia’s Patson Daka opened the scoring for Leicester in the 46th minute before Danny Welbeck equalised for Brighton in the 82nd minute. Brighton increased their tally to 30 points in ninth place while Leicester rose to 10th place after raising their tally to 26 points.
Arsenal, for their part, wasted a real chance to return to fourth place after falling into the trap of a goalless home draw against Burnley. Arsenal increased their tally to 36 points in seventh place while Burnley continued to finish last with only 12 points.
