Liverpool tighten pressure on Manchester City and beat Arsenal

Liverpool halted their hosts Arsenal’s upward march and defeated them by two unanswered goals in a postponed match from the twenty-seventh stage of the English Premier League.

The first half ended in a scoreless draw between the two teams and in the second half, Liverpool sealed the score with a double scored by Diogo Jota in the 54th minute and Brazilian substitute Roberto Firmino in the 62nd minute.

The clash for the top spot was sparked by the victory as Liverpool increased their tally to 69 points in second place, one point behind leaders Manchester City, while Arsenal’s fourth position tally was frozen at 51 points.
