Madrid advances, PSG is eliminated, thanks to Benzema’s hat-trick

Real Madrid eliminated PSG from the Champions League with a 3-1 victory on Tuesday. Karim Benzema scored a hat-trick.

As a result, Madrid advances on a 4-2 aggregate score.

The first leg, which took place in France two weeks ago, concluded in a 1-0 victory for PSG.

Kylian Mbappe gave the visitors the lead at the Bernabeu Stadium. Mbappe moved fast to get in front of the goalie and strike a close-range shot into the bottom left corner after Neymar produced a superb through pass.

On 76 minutes, Benzema gave Madrid a 2-1 lead after scooping up the ball inside the area, finding himself in a favorable position, and firing a shot past Gianluigi Donnarumma.

After the ball broke to him in the area two minutes later, the Madrid striker hammered the rebound into the bottom right corner to make it 3-1 for his team.

Madrid has therefore qualified for the Champions League quarter-finals.
