Manchester United beat Brighton to move up to fourth place

Manchester United beat hosts Brighton with two clean goals to move up to fourth on the English Premier League table.

At Old Trafford in a game postponed from week 18, the Portuguese star Cristiano Ronaldo ended a 588-minute goal drought, scoring his first goal of 2022 with a brilliant shot in the 51st minute, before the Portuguese Bruno Fernandez added the second in the seventh minute of added time to raise the “Red Devils” to fourth place with 43 points.

Brighton, whose tally of 33 points froze in ninth place, ended the match with ten players after defender Lewis Dunk was sent off in the 54th minute.
