Manchester United announced the signing of German coach Ralph Rangnik as interim manager until the end of the season on Monday.
Manchester United’s fluctuating level this season led to the dismissal of Norway’s Ole Gunnar Solskjaer to be temporarily replaced by Michael Carrick, who managed to lead the red devils to the champions league round of 16 by beating Villarreal.
United are eighth in the premier league with 18 points, 12 points behind leaders Chelsea, who drew 1-1 with the red devils on Sunday in the 13th stage.
“He was our first candidate for interim coach, reflecting the invaluable leadership and technical skills he has achieved in nearly four decades of management and training experience,” said the club’s director of football.
For his part, Rangnik expressed his enthusiasm to join united, focusing on the need to bring the reeling club back to the path of victories and successes.
