Milan beat Sampdoria and take the top spot

Milan continued their awakening and snatched the lead from their neighbor and rival Inter Milan by beating their guest Sampdoria 1-0 Sunday in the 25th leg of the Italian Serie A.

Milan owed the victory to their Portuguese international striker Rafael Leao, who scored the only goal in the 7th minute, taking advantage of a long ball from French goalkeeper Mike Maignan, who dribbled past the Polish defender Bartosz Bereszynski on the left and went into the area before finishing with a powerful shot into the goal.

Milan achieved the most important and took good advantage of the draw between rival Inter Milan and hosts Napoli 1-1 on Saturday in the opening stage to raise his score to 55 points and snatch the lead by one point, knowing that Inter have a postponed game against Bologna.

In the rest of the matches Empoli drew with Cagliari 1-1 and Genoa with Salernitana 1-1, Verona also won by a wide score over Udinese 4-0.
