Monaco beat Lyon 2-0 on Saturday in the 23rd week of the French Ligue 1.
Jean Lucas (2) and Ben Yedder (27) scored for Monaco.
The French team finished with 36 points in fourth place, while Lyon finished with 34 in eighth place. Ben Yedder strengthened his position at the top of the scoring list with 14 goals, two goals ahead of defending champions Lille’s Jonathan David.
In a second match, Saint-Etienne continued their awakening and secured their second successive victory when they beat Montpellier 3-1 at home. Montpellier was the starter through Elye Wahi in the 11th minute, and Saint-Etienne turned the tables in the final ten minutes with three goals from Algerian origin Romain Hamouma (82), Arnaud Nordin (90), and Tunisian international Wahbi Khazri (90+2).
