After all of the speculations pointed to Frenkie De Jong as Erik ten Hag’s primary priority in current transfer market, the Manchester United boss may be looking for another Barcelona star to sign this summer.
The transfer market for 2022 is still open, and every manager is attempting to acquire the best pieces available to improve his squad. Erik ten Hag, Manchester United’s new manager, is on the lookout for some players in Barcelona, but it’s not about Frenkie de Jong or Memphis Depay right now.
Frenkie de Jong has been mentioned in practically every Manchester United rumor in the last few weeks. The Dutch midfielder may be used as exchange currency for Barcelona, but getting him out of Spain would be difficult because he wants to flourish with the Blaugranas.
Erik ten Hag, Frenkie’s compatriot and former boss, is launching a new venture with Manchester United. He has recently been linked with the midfielder, although it is unclear whether the player wishes to relocate to England. Now, the coach may be looking for a new member of the current Barcelona squad to join him at the Red Devils.
Sergino Dest is the new Manchester United target.
Sergino Dest is expected to leave Barcelona this summer, according to The Sun. Erik ten Hag could be interested in the right-back for roughly €20 million, but it would be a difficult move to make because other things would have to happen in Spain.
The transfer window between Barcelona and the Premier League has been tricky. The Culers have recently been in a bidding war with Chelsea for Sevilla center-back Jules Kounde. The Blaugranas are also attempting to persuade Marcos Alonso and Cesar Azpilicueta to join them this summer. If the second one accepts, Sergino Dest will be able to leave Spain and move to Manchester because he will no longer have a place in the team.
For Manchester United, Aaron Wan-Bissaka is the starting right-back, with Diogo Dalot supporting him. Despite this, Ten Hag appears to be dissatisfied with the English player and would want to play with a weapon he is familiar with, such as Sergino. Both Barcelona and Manchester United are at a crossroads.
