Nottingham Forest and Newcastle are interested in signing Arsenal’s former midfielder

Following the midfielder’s departure from Juventus, Nottingham Forest are close to acquiring Aaron Ramsey.

The Welshman is a free agent after leaving Juventus after three seasons. Ramsey, who previously had a loan stint at Forest, was among the better earners in Turin, with a decent weekly salary of £400,000.

With his future uncertain, the 31-year-old has allegedly rejected the opportunity to play for teammate Andrea Pirlo at Karagumruk in Turkey. Along with Forest, Cardiff City, Galatasaray, and MLS clubs are keeping an eye on his position.

Former Forest, Derby County, and Liverpool striker Saunders, though, feels the Reds of Nottingham should pursue him, while also identifying Newcastle United as a potential destination. “They’re the Forest,” he told talkSPORT. “Many people forget, but Steve Cooper is Welsh.” He’ll be aware of Aaron’s availability.

“He covers the most ground of any player.” I can see any player being interested if Newcastle is also interested.”
