In the loss to Eintracht Frankfurt in the Europa League quarter-finals on Thursday, Barcelona midfielder Pedri suffered a hamstring injury, the Spanish club revealed Friday.
“Pedri has torn the femoral biceps in his left hamstring, according to the results of tests performed on Friday morning,” Barca announced.
“It means he will be unavailable for selection until he has fully recovered from his injury,” the statement said.
It is expected that the 19-year-old Spain international will be absent for at least one month, according to Catalan media reports.
Pedri suffered the injury at the conclusion of the first half in Barcelona’s shock 3-2 loss to Eintracht Frankfurt, with manager Xavi replacing him with Frenkie de Jong for the second period of the match.
