Real Madrid strengthen their lead by beating Sociedad and Benzema comes out injured

Real Madrid strengthened their lead in la Liga after beating hosts Real Sociedad 2-0 on Saturday in the 16th stage of the competition.

Italian coach Carlo Ancelotti’s team succeeded in returning with three precious points against Sociedad, who topped the La Liga for a while before suffering a series of defeats that kept him out of first place. Thanks to goals from Brazilian Vinicius Junior (47) and Serbian substitute Luka Jovic (57) Real increased their tally to 39 points ahead of Sevilla by a margin of eight points (31), Real Betis (30), and Atlético Madrid (29).

Although Real Star Karim Benzema left early in the match due to a muscle problem (17), the team managed to address some loopholes and control more acquisition. The first goal came after a brilliant Vinicius Jr. solo effort on the edge of the box who dodged more than one player before passing to Jovic who replaced the injured Benzema, and the latter returned it to his Brazilian colleague who showed high resilience in front of the goal giving Real the goal of progress (47). This is his 10th goal in 16 games this season, becoming the first player born in 2000 to exceed 10 goals in the same season of the competition.

Jovic did not delay in boosting his team’s progress by scoring the second goal, his first personally this season in the league, from a header close to goal to give his team a clear advantage (57).

Sociedad made two quick changes to activate their attack, but Real maintained their stability to achieve his 12th win of the season from 15 games.
