Ronald Araujo has agreed to a new deal with Barcelona that would keep him at the club until 2026.
The Catalan club had been working on re-signing the center-back for some time, as his previous contract was slated to end in 2023.
Because of the uncertainty surrounding his future, rumors linked him to Liverpool, Chelsea, and Manchester United, but the Uruguay international has chosen to stay at Camp Nou.

The 23-year-old will stay with the Blaugrana for another three years.
The agreement also contains a €1 billion (£840 million/$1.1 billion) release clause.

What has Araujo done for Barcelona?
Araujo joined Barcelona in 2018 from Uruguayan club Boston River and made his professional debut in October 2019.
He has now made 78 appearances for the club, with half of them coming in the 2021-22 season.
As a result of his significant position in the club, the center-back has scored four goals in 39 games this season.
Xavi pushed the club to make a contract extension for Araujo one of their main goals this season as a result of his performances in the heart of the defense.
