Bayern Munich has announced that winger Serge Gnabry has signed a new four-year deal with the club.
The 27-year-old had reached the last year of his previous contract and was expected to depart earlier this summer, with Arsenal and Chelsea both keeping an eye on Gnabry’s position.
The controversy is finally ended, as Bayern have signed Gnabry till 2026.
“I thought a lot about what I want as a player in the next years, and I came to the decision that I want to remain at FC Bayern, win everything again here, and experience everything – especially winning another Champions League championship with our supporters,” Gnabry stated.
“It’s amazing because I get to play at the top level with my pals here.” It wouldn’t feel the same at a different club. I want to have more fantastic experiences here – and nowhere else. The desire for significant honors will not go away.”
“It’s another significant indication that a talent like Serge Gnabry sees his future at FC Bayern,” club president Herbert Hainer remarked.
“He’s won everything here and feels so strongly with the club that he wants to help create additional chapters in the club’s history.” He’s a delight to watch when he’s on the ball. With him, Sadio Mane, Thomas Müller, Kingsley Coman, Leroy Sané, and Jamal Musiala, FC Bayern has some of the strongest flank options in European football.”
Gnabry’s contract extension was announced only minutes after Hainer confirmed a deal to trade star striker Robert Lewandowski to Barcelona.
