Serie A: Fiorentina beat Mourinho’s men 2-0

Fiorentina defeated Roma 2-0 in Serie A on Monday, reviving their prospects of qualifying for Europe after three consecutive defeats.

After just 11 minutes, Nicolas Gonzalez scored a penalty and Giacomo Bonaventura increased the lead in Florence.

Fiorentina moved up to the seventh position, equal on points with Roma in sixth and Atalanta in ninth.

Lazio is sixth in the table with 62 points, followed by Roma (59), Fiorentina (59), and Atalanta (59). (59).

While the Champions League spots are already decided, with AC Milan, Inter Milan, Napoli, and Juventus all certain of finishing in the top four with two games left, the Europa League and Conference League spots are still up for grabs.

The fifth and sixth-place finishers will advance to the Europa League, while the seventh-place finisher may be sent to the Conference League.

If Roma defeats Feyenoord in the Conference League final on May 25 and fails to finish in the top six, Italy will have three clubs in the Europa League and none in the Conference League, since the Conference League winner qualifies for the Europa League.
