Switzerland’s Seferovic scores in 1st minute to defeat Portugal

On the other hand, Switzerland beat Portugal 1-0 on Sunday thanks to a goal from striker Haris Seferovic in the first minute. This was the first win for Murat Yakin’s team in this year’s Nations League.

Seferovic put Switzerland ahead with a close-range header 57 seconds into the game at Stade de Geneve. He did this after Swiss defender Silvan Widmer sent him a perfect cross inside the box.

The first winner of the 2018-19 Nations League Rafael Leao, a forward for Portugal, tied the game in the 18th minute, but his goal was ruled out because he was offside.

After halftime, Portugal tried harder, but despite a powerful shot from the edge of the box by Bernardo Silva in the 63rd minute and a great header by Diogo Jota in the 78th, they were not able to score.

Switzerland’s last game was a 1-0 loss at home to Spain, and they lost their first three games. This is their first win in 2022, after six games.

So far in this year’s competition, Fernando Santos’ team hasn’t lost a game. However, Cristiano Ronaldo, Joao Moutinho, and Raphael Guerreiro were all rested and did not travel with the rest of the team.

Portugal fell to second place in Group A2 with seven points, while Spain moved up to first with eight points after beating the Czech Republic 2-0 in the other game. Switzerland is still in last place with three points.
