Telles joins Sevilla on loan from Manchester United

Manchester United’s left winger Alex Telles joined Sevilla on loan for the season on Thursday.

The 29-year-old joined the English giants from Porto in October 2020, but despite United’s struggles last season, he struggled to hold down a regular spot in the first team.

Telles has mostly filled in for Luke Shaw and has been pushed further down the pecking order by the arrival of Feyenoord’s Tyrell Malacia.

According to reports, the Spanish side will pay Telles’ wages in full, but there is no option or obligation to sign the Brazilian international.

Telles is the latest player to depart Old Trafford this summer as new manager Erik ten Hag restructures his squad.

After their contracts expired, Paul Pogba, Edinson Cavani, Jesse Lingard, Nemanja Matic, and Juan Mata all left for free.

Andreas Pereira has joined Fulham on a permanent basis, while Dean Henderson has joined Nottingham Forest on loan.
