French side Lyon scored an important and precious away win over Portuguese hosts Porto with a clean goal on Wednesday in the round of 16 the Europa League Competition.
The match took place at the stadium of Dragao in Porto. The first half ended in a draw without goals and in the second half, Lucas Paqueta managed to score the winning goal for Lyon in the 59th minute.
In the fifth minute of added time, Porto scored the equalizer, but the referee canceled it after returning to the video technology “VAR”.
The return meeting between the two teams will take place on Thursday, the seventeenth of March at Lyon.
Germany’s Eintracht Frankfurt emerged as the winner against hosts Real Betis (2-1) on Wednesday at the “Benito Villamarin” Stadium.
Serbian Filip Kostic (14) and Japanese Daichi Kamada (32) scored for the German team.
In return, Frenchman Nabil Fekir scored the only goal for the Spanish team (30).
Colombian Rafael Santos Borre missed a penalty for Eintracht Frankfurt in the 52nd minute.
The second leg will take place in Frankfurt on March 17.
