Ukrainian star set for medical tests after completing £30m Arsenal switch
Oleksandr Zinchenko is set to have a physical this week to finalize his £30 million move from Manchester City to Arsenal, following the signing of personal terms on a contract until 2026.
The teams agreed on a fee last Friday, and negotiations with the player were completed on Monday. The Ukraine international was eager to reunite with Mikel Arteta, the Arsenal manager who worked with him at City as Pep Guardiola’s assistant.
City are contemplating a bid for Brighton left-back Marc Cucurella, Guardiola’s preferred candidate for the position.
Zinchenko has mostly been utilized as a left back for City, but he can also play center midfield. He is set to become Arteta’s second acquisition from City this summer, following forward Gabriel Jesus.
Cucurella joined Brighton from Getafe in August of last year, following a time at Barcelona in which he did not advance beyond the B squad. He made his debut in Spain last year.
