Uli Hoeness, honorary president of Bayern Munich, has spoken about Robert Lewandowski and expressed confidence that the striker will remain at the Allianz Arena.
Lewandowski has yet to sign a contract extension with Bayern, and there have been several reports that Barcelona would want to sign him this summer.
The Poland international is under contract with Bayern until 2023, and Hoeness claims he will not leave at the conclusion of the season.
“I am certain that Robert Lewandowski will play for Bayern next season,” he told B/R Portal. “He has a contract, it’s as simple as that.”
The rumor mill isn’t convinced and continues to believe that Lewandowski might go. According to Fabrizio Romano, the striker is Barcelona’s “priority,” and the club is prepared to provide a three-year contract.
Mateu Alemany, Barcelona’s sporting director, was questioned about Lewandowski before the club’s triumph against Real Mallorca, and he played off recent speculations regarding a meeting with the Bayern Munich star’s agent.
“No meeting with Lewandowski’s representative.” “I also don’t want to talk about the negotiating process since it’s something private,” he said. “We don’t like to talk about players who have contracts with other teams.”
This tale is likely to continue for some time.
